Bio

As an Atlanta native, David grew up playing soccer at AFC Lightning & Concorde Fire. His soccer journey took him to Mercer University where he played four years, winning a conference championship in 2014.

While playing soccer at Mercer, David studied Industrial Engineering with a minor in Economics. In 2016, he decided to stay at Mercer to pursue a Master’s in Engineering Management.

While in graduate school David discovered his passion for coaching through working with a local grassroots soccer team in Macon, GA.

After graduating from Mercer, David began a career in Aerospace Engineering while coaching at AFC Lightning in Fayetteville, GA.

In 2019, he moved to Germany to play the beautiful game oversees and to learn about German coaching methods.

David would describe his coaching style as one that centers around the player to focus on developing the psychological factors that are necessary to promote intrinsic motivation and skill acquisition.  He currently coaches the U9, U10, and U14 age groups at AFC Lightning.
